Collective housing and health center, Rodilhan
Lot B, ZAC Rodilanum
A scattered distribution of the plots allows for the preservation of the existing green framework. Special attention is given to the different thresholds of privacy to maintain a connection with the outdoors. Porches cut through the northern plots, providing covered access to those in the south.
They create an airflow that, combined with the abundant vegetation in the private gardens, contributes to a cooling island effect.Ensuring cross-ventilation for all units, the apartments are accessed via an exterior walkway on the north side. Occasional widenings give it the status of a shared space.
Wet rooms are positioned along the facade to benefit from natural ventilation and, in some cases, direct daylight.
The living areas are oriented to take advantage of optimal sun exposure. In addition to a ceiling height of 2.70m, air circulators provide a cooling effect of approximately 4°C during the summer months
While only some apartments feature adaptable layouts to accommodate changing needs, all benefit from generous outdoor spaces. The mineral quality of the facades echoes local architecture, with a Vers stone base and upper floors made of tinted bio-sourced concrete.
A rigorous arrangement gives them a monolithic appearance. On the south side, loggias provide summer sun protection and reduce noise pollution from Chemin des Canaux. On the opposite side, facing the garden or the future public park, they engage with the larger landscape through slender metal supports designed to accommodate climbing vegetation.
